ENGINEERING
Full Reverse Engineering

Sturm Rapid Response Center's engineering department plays a vital role in our parts manufacturing and in solving customer problems. We offer full reverse engineering and design capabilities that include hydraulic and mechanical modifications. Our workstations that utilize the most current releases of AutoCad, Mechanical Desktop, and Unigraphics software enabling our engineers to create accurate and quality modeled parts that are equal to or better than the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). With these technologies, Sturm Rapid Response Center can provide rapid replication of current and obsolete components.

Data acquisition is accomplished through the use of coordinate measuring machines (CMM's). Our FARO™ Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's), articulated arms that gather three-dimensional data within a six foot sphere, enable obtained dimensions to be repeatable to within 0.001". We have four of these machines within our operation, which allows us to offer on-site data aquisition.

Scanned data can be modeled in one of our 3D modeling software packages. Sturm Rapid Response Center has a dedicated server for electronic drawing storage and access, which is sized to accommodate current and future needs. Our drawing database includes over 300,000 drawings. This drawing database is complemented with over 400,000 customer inventory records.
